Critique Session

Join us at the King Road library for a chance to have other members critique your work. Bring a selection that can be read aloud in 5 minutes or less. It can be a whole story, part of a story, or just a little something you threw together! We hope to see you there!

As Obi-Wan Kenobi once said, “Many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.” Compelling personalities make compelling reading, but as an author it’s tricky to really get your readers into your character’s head. Tim Waggoner has the answer. He calls it Deep POV – going beyond the surface to dig deep into your character’s point of view. Learn how to bring out your character’s deeper thoughts and feelings and truly engage your reader in their world!

Be sure to join us for this special event. Tim Waggoner has over 40 novels, a Stoker Award and several recent movie novelizations under his belt. He’s also a great teacher – he teaches Creative Writing at Sinclair College in Dayton! We’re very excited to have him join us!

July Meeting

Let’s get hands on with some real writing! This month’s activity is writing prompts. Join us at the Sylvania Branch Library on July 15th at 10am, and don’t forget to bring your implements of writing destruction!

And just a heads up, our August author guest is Stoker Award winner Tim Waggoner, who will be discussing Deep POV. Let a professional teach you how to really get your readers into your character’s head! that’ll be August 19th at the King’s Road Branch Library!
